What do you enjoy most about doing business in Dallas?
We are proud to be a local Dallas business and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cooper Aerobics in 2020. Cooper Hotel is consistently reviewed on TripAdvisor as one of the top five hotels (out of 218 hotels) in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Cooper Hotel has been named to the Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame, upon receiving the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence designation five years in a row. We take pride in our repeat guests and events, and have many guests in the area return for longer stays when they plan home renovations.
Why did you decide to become a DRC member?
The networking opportunities within the Dallas Regional Chamber were appealing, with the goal to reach more meeting planners looking for hotels and event space in the Dallas We also appreciate the opportunity to showcase our hidden gem in the middle of North Dallas and let people know that Cooper Hotel is open to the public, whether you’re hosting a corporate retreat, a wedding reception, a board meeting, or just want to experience a personal staycation.
How has your business changed in the past five years?
Today, Cooper Hotel actively participates in online travel agencies for individual travelers. In the past, the majority of our business came from Cooper Clinic patients, students of The Cooper Institute, and attendees of corporate meetings or social events. Today, we have more individual travelers and repeat guests staying with us in addition to hosting corporate meetings and wedding receptions.
We recently completed a $1 million renovation, refreshing all 61 guest rooms, two of the 900-plus square foot meeting rooms, the outdoor pool area, and corridors. The renovated look expanded Cooper Hotel’s energy-conservation and green initiatives.
We also partnered with the award-winning Stash Hotel Rewards loyalty program to offer guests valuable Stash rewards points to be redeemed at one-of-a-kind, independent hotels throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Stash Hotel Rewards is the nation’s largest loyalty program for independent hotel properties and is free to join.
